Then I can simply say "I have never seen that film at the local cinema.", can't I? And If I can, what's the difference between this sentence and that one ?

Yes, you can also say it like that. The difference between both versions is that the test sentence contains two verbs: to go and to see. In your sentence, you only refer to the action of seeing the film. |
