Does it mean something different in the following two sentences?

(1) You may fall down.
(2) You might fall down (I know in this sentence, "might" is not the past tense of "may."

I am confused about the usage of these two words:may & might. Please explain.

Here the two words are essentially equivalent. 'Might' is a tentative form of 'may', so #2 makes it slightly less probable, perhaps.

When they are used to mean 'possibility', Joy, they are essentially interchangeable.
