I've heard an american moslem said"I'll take a prayer",moslems perform prayers five times a day. Is it correct to use the word 'take',for example"I take asar prayer" if it isn't a correct word, what word should I use besides the word perform. thanks.

The phrases I'm familiar with and would therefore suggest are:

- Say a prayer
- Perform a ritual.
