Good morning, Torsten.
I don't pronounce the "H" in either of those words.
However, I do know someone whose name is "Herbie" and he would find it odd if I didn't pronounce the "H" in his name. . _________________ "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." ~ Abraham Lincoln |

Hi Torsten,
I would sound the 'h'. Good practice for that letter is:
Harry went to Hampstead Heath. Harry lost his hat. Harry's mother said to Harry: Harry, where's yer hat? Hanging on the hook in the hall but it wasn't there at all!

. Oddly (or maybe not, considering who's posting this), I sometimes use the BrE pronunciation and sometimes the AmE one for this word. That's what 20 years in Canada will do. . _________________ Native English teacher at Mister Micawber's |
