Hi,
Do you think tongue twisters are useful for us to practise pronunciation? Or are they just for fun?

Many thanks,
Nessie.

Hi Nessie

I'd say it depends on the tongue-twister. I think some can be fun and also worthwhile.
However, if it's one that even most native speakers can't manage to say, I think that sort of tongue twister is likely to be frustrating. I also think it's important for the tongue twister to actually mean something (and you should also know what it means while you're trying to say it). Laughing

The tongue twister I remember best from my learning-German days was one about a fisherman named Fritz who fished for fresh fish. Laughing
Here's a YouTube video of an American guy (with what I think is a pretty terrible German accent) trying to say the German tongue twister. (Most of the video is in English):

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Good luck!
