Hi,

Please take a look at the following conversation:

Quote:
A: ...and Mom is beside herself...
B: What are you talking about? Mom is always beside herself.

What does "beside herself" mean?

Many thanks,
Cantik

Mom is always beside herself. #2 (permalink) Thu Nov 06, 2008 15:58 pm   Mom is always beside herself.

To be beside yourself is to be very agitated. If you are beside yourself with rage, for example, then you are extremely angry. You can also be beside yourself with other emotions, like grief.
