That would be an acceptable tense for that sentence too, Saneta. There are often a number of tenses which can be considered correct when a sentence is seen in isolation.

Thank You B., I think that 'to feel' and 'to be let down' are at the same time in the past, that's why it doesn't rather fit for me that 'he had been let down ' occured first and later ''felt as if'..? What do you think? Many thanks |

I think 'had been' is more commonly required than 'was', so fits better in most cases. _________________ Cheers m' dears! |
