Despite I respect Mc Cainīs request to conservatives and really believe in the reliability of it, I wonder what conservatives would do else? From what I know the majority in the US-parlament are democrats, arenīt they? What chance would conservatives have to prevent any change of laws or something else, at present, although they would do if they could, wouldnīt they? Thatīs politics.
Whatīs more close to my heart were that they donīt try to evaluate Obamaīs policy pretty soon (a few month or so) after his coming into power. I think itīs a hard challenge that Obama will met now and as much as I get from reports of German news Mr. Bush donīt do anything to support the change in White House, quite the opposite. _________________ "Ho ho!" said the clown |

The Democrats' majority isn't big enough to prevent filibusters, so the Republicans could prevent some potential laws from being passed just by obstructing them until they die.

His biggest challenge is that he promised everything to everybody, and many of the promises he made were mutually contradictory. He will now have to break lots and lots of promises, and try to figure out how to do it without making supporters angry.
The opposition party actually needs to judge and evaluate everything he does as soon as he does it, because the consequences of his policies can last a very long time. For example, the Democrats are currently considering confiscating everyone's private pension funds like they did in Argentina recently. That could do a lot of damage to society, and it's important that the Republicans make a lot of loud noise about what the consequences could be.

This sounds like cry-baby stuff to me, and further attempts to demonize Mr. Bush. I doubt that the Bush administration is providing any less help than the Clinton administration gave him. Go back in the news and find out how much the Clinton administration cooperated. |

No need for others to demonize Mr. Bush. He did it himself. Iīve never heard before of a US-President who visited cities in Western countries while people (city dwellers) werenīt allowed to cheer for him but were ordered to lock themselves into their residents and keep the windows closed. Have a look on his visit in Mainz(Germany). even the gully wholes had been welded. Do you think I must demonize such a Prez???? PUUUUH!!!!

Clinton stole Bushīs toy now Bush steals Obamaīs toy????? :? How about cry-baby stuff now? An eye for an eye....? How biblical! I think there are some bigger challenges than a revenge to the Democrats, arenīt there?
Nonetheless, if youīre still interested in the facts that made me think what annoyed you, please let me know. You also might abolish the correctness of my information.

| Fan, you chose to focus on the smallest, least substantive remark I made and go off on an anti-Bush rant. You're displaying the Bush Derangement Syndrome I mentioned earlier. |

| Can anyone please tell me the connection between Obama and learning English? Should I learn more English now that Obama will be the new president or what? Maybe there is something like Obama English or Obama Speak and his fans will start to speak like him. |

Well, in a certain way your least remark was where you added a personal offen(d)se/(ce) (remember your hint to my infantile yelling).
As for your departing President let me finally tell you that you might praise him to the skies as much as you want, for me itīs important that he finally departs. For so earlier and higher for so better.
And if Iīm allowed Iīd like to show you my conviction that Obama isnīt a socialist or communist and definetely do not steal private people their savings but take rich people more to responsibility to what happens in your society since possessing people are that ones who can effectively influence the economy instead of amassing their coins. As much as I get his point (by the way the point most proficient European governments share) he is not interested in robbing the rich and giving the whole welfare to the lazy ones but shareing the improvement to everyone who is willing to add his power and want to work on this improvement. Even the US-citizens cannot each improve from a dishwasher to millionaires so that there will be always differences in their incomes. But keeping all habitants healthy and helping them keeping their health no matter what income they earn (get) is an honorable task, for instance, donīt you think so? _________________ "Ho ho!" said the clown |

Hi, I had read the text of Jamie and what ... ? Well guess yourself ... it is again some type of misunderstaning as usually. The way to express yourself ( about baby cry) is there mentioned in the context of general writing or talking.
Sort of - beat about the bush.
A thing is that no-native speaker never will be a real "partner" for a discussion in English with a native speaker, outwithstanding of enormous (their both)efford done to learn something. You see natives incessantly are tempted to jump over cliches and burst with some new phrase or buzzword. They are permanetly switched-on and seeing all around in their mother tongue and being users of idioms sometimes very rare idioms, they are out of your range to understand them.
I don't mean now peculiarly Jamie because he as the English teacher (sort of) aware of consequences of a such behaviour.
But the average English user (English I mean - as second language) can't understand at least quarter of the text , if he does , he notorious will misunderstand some parts of text which could have crucial meaning for entire message, and so on, and so on, and ....
Only Esperanto is worthy something as a communication tool because it is definitely cut off from cultural and political burdens.
I would recommend to stop comments before we will be really able to say - I am 100 % sure what is all about. same remedy will apply to me of course but as you see English is much too much selective and it afterall might be a real cause of something bad.

What I said was that it sounded like the Obama team has been talking like cry-babies to journalists. You weren't the one being a cry-baby. It was whoever gave the journalists the "information". |

Hi Jan,
I think I can understand most of what Jamie (K) writes because he usually expresses his thoughts very clearly. Many ESL speakers like you try to make up their own phrases and sentences and they often fail miserably looking rather stupid. How can you get your ideas across if your sentences contain so many basic grammar and spelling mistakes? If you want to express your opinion why not stick to phrases you know are correct?
Also, what's the point in making several typos and punctuation mistakes in every single sentence you write? This says a lot about your character and integrity. How can you ague with others if you can't even follow very basic spelling and punctuation rules?

Well, as I said earlier same remedy applies to me.
I would think now Thorsten that you had not read my post at all or you had misunderstood it. It is only a farther proof that we can't communicate in English with ease. It would be very much appreciated to read it ( my previous post) once more and think.... , and think ... .It will help a lot. You will make me the happiest person in the world if you will (finally final) just start to correct my errors.
I have written that people can't understand each other and have explained why (in my view Jamie has completly nothing to do with it).

Seems I must appologize here.
-1st -I think I got you wrong.
-2nd -I happened to misunderstand the news wrong as I could learn today. Itīs not been a complaint of the Obama team but some news about an economic decision of Mr. Bush I canīt endorse and thought Mr. Obama would consider it similarly. Todayīs news make me assume that Obama is closer to the current Prezī mind. _________________ "Ho ho!" said the clown |

Has a Afro-American first president in history. Yes. he would make a considerable impact in the world .That many people in the world will go and learned English has a second languages... we can see it from the beginning.
So look and see the the wings of changes coming from that direction. |
