Can you distinguish between American and British accents?

It just occurred to me that quite a lot of people here in Central Germany who had learned English for about 5 years at school (pretty much my generation ) have a hard time distinguishing between British and American accents. In many cases they say that American accents are more difficult to understand than British ones but that often is because they did not have much exposure to any English accents.

So what about you. How good are you at identifying different English accents?
