1. Can you change a $10 bill?
2. Can you make change for a $10 bill?
3. Do you have change for a $10 bill?
Do the above sentences have similar meanings?

#3 is what I would ask a friend. Perhpas the vending machine only takes singles and I have only a $10 bill.

#1 is what I would ask a merchant, handing him the $10 without a purchase.

#2 (once you spell "change" correctly) is what I would say to a merchant as I make a small purchase.

(Of course, it would be shocking to the exteme if a merchant could not make change for a $10. Maybe a $100 might make more sense there.)
