From Prison Break Season 4 Episode 10 'The Legend'

After T-bag finished a story, to new franchisees, of passed away Brad, he quoted his father saying that:

"Stand by, your glasses steady, and drink to your comrade's eyes.

Here's a toast to the dead already, and hurrah for the next to die."

I understand it's kind of a toast speech, and normally 'to drink to someone' is

'to wish good health or good luck to someone'.

But, what's about 'to drink to comrade's eyes' in the above context?

Thanks for one's kind explanation.

.
I suppose it means 'drink to each other, those comrades who are toasting with you'. If you drank to them, you would look at their eyes.

Thanks Mister Micawber,

I concur.

Probably, it used the word 'eyes' just to rhyme with 'die' in the next paragraph.
