Hi Suresh,
Not quite sure what you want to say: We are reducing the number of tests/We are maintaining the same number of tests/ We are replacing old tests with the same number of new ones ???

Initially we had 20. Now 10 were deleted. After this, 10 are added. Again the total number =20 When I say about the number - Can I say "We have levelled the number of test cases". I mean, now, we have the same number which we previously had. |

Hi,
In that case I would suggest: We have maintained the same number of tests or We have kept the number of tests at the same level.
Using 'level' as a verb in your sentence doesn't really work because it usually means 'make something even in the sense of the same height' as in 'level a floor surface.'

Hi Alan, Thanks for your reply.
After deleting the test cases (action totally completed yesterday) can I say "they are deleted". Or "they WERE deleted".
what is the difference between these two. |

Hi,
If you refer to what you did yesterday, you would say 'were'. If you want to describe their current 'status', you would say 'are'

Thank you Alan. Your answer almost cleared my doubt. Regardless of the time (deletion either happend on Wednesday or Monday), if I say about the status we can say "Test cases are deleted". Am I right?
Thanks, Suresh |

| Yes, but you need an article: The test cases are deleted. |
