What is my problem? I am a handicapped and unemployed person... #1 (permalink) Wed Nov 19, 2008 17:42 pm   What is my problem? I am a handicapped and unemployed person...

I am from India. I have studied till class 10. I am 34-years-old. I am weak in English. I am a handicapped and unemployed person. I don't read much. After reading an article or anything I forget everything. I can't recall it without looking at the text. Could you please tell me what is the problem and how to solve it?
I would greatly appreciate your help.

Thanks.

Hello Amit,

Welcome to english-test.net and many thanks for sharing your situation with us. I think we can help you with your memory challenge: Whenever you read an article, please post the main ideas of it here on the forum so we can discuss them. This will jog your memory and help you see things from a different perspective. In addition, you can the read the article out loud and record it on an MP3 file so you can listen to it again to recap its contents.

Please let me know what you think.
Best regards,
Torsten

Hello Torsten #3 (permalink) Thu Nov 20, 2008 11:17 am   Hello Torsten

Thank you for your reply. I was totally upset. Yes, what you say I will share here the main ideas of my articles. Actually, I want to start a blog on how to make money online. This is the reason why I want to study articles on this topic and want to earn money from adsense on my blog. But I can't remember anything whatever I read. I want your help very much.

Thanks.
Amit.

Hi Amit,

Well at least you remember what your goal is and how you want to achieve it -- that's a good start Wink. No need to be upset I guess. There is so much information out there and especially in the world of online advertising there are new developments almost every day and it's a challenge to keep up with all of them. The important question is do you really need to memorize all the information about Adsense? I think you don't. What you really should focus on is your audience, your potential readers. If you want to start a blog you do so because you want to share your experiences and ideas with other people.

Maybe you want to tell us what your blog is going to be about?
Many thanks,
Torsten

Hi,
Thanks for your nice reply. You want to know what I will blog about? Well, I am much interested to share information on 'home based business'. The various ways that people can make money from home without any investment. The different types of business one can do from home. And many other online income opportunities. Please tell me whether this topic is good for me? And also, I am much interested in this topic.
Your reply is much appreciated.

Yes Amit, I think educating people about business opportunities is an excellent idea so by all means, go for it. By the way, I've written something on that subject too and you can read it here: Why establish an Internet business?

Please tell me more about your plans. When and how did your interest for the Internet industry emerge? Where do you get your information from and how much time do you spend online every day? By the way, your English is impeccable -- you probably started learning it when you were a child?

Thanks Torsten for your reply and complement on my knowledge of English. But the problem remains there. My problem is that I like to read articles on 'business opportunities', and I can't recall or remember even a single sentence properly. I forget immediately when I close my eyes or not looking at the article which I was reading. This is creating problem for learning the subject properly. I am getting bored after reading a few sentences. After that I give up. I can't continue further. Although, you have mentioned that my English is faultless. There is still a problem of remembering sentences or words of an article. I started my online venture in 2006. I am still a novice on the internet. This problem is creating trouble for me. I study the articles from article directories. I work online at least 6 hours daily. Please tell me what is my problem? Why I can't remember things? Is this the cause of aging? Because I am 34-years-old.

Thanking you.
Amit.

I read my articles daily! But the frequency is not constant. When I am in a mood of reading then only I read.
