TOEFL® essay: Do you support/oppose building a new factory near your community?

I live in a very pleasant village that spread over 100 square miles, and thickly bounded by trees and streams, and located ten miles away from the city. In my village, there is an old mountain called Orchid Mountain that has plenty of Orchids flower gardens in it. Recently, I heard that a nuclear power plant company is going to build a large factory near my house. There may be some advantages of it. However, I oppose the idea of building a large factory close to my house because it may destroy nature’s life, people’s privacy, and create pollution.

Firstly, factory buildings never supported the nature’s life. In my village, we have lot of natural gifts such as trees, rivers, and birds and wild animals. Besides, we have a number of Orchid farms in the Orchid Mountain. Factory needs big chunk of empty land; therefore, they may cut all trees close to my house and the orchid mountain. Orchid plants need very low temperature and shadowed area, and wild life animals require quiet and loneliness. It is very true that loosing all trees might change the weather, and make the ground subject to the sunlight directly. Moreover, Factory noises, and night hours floodlights may disturb the animal’s life. Being difficult to finding food, the animal may vacate their places. In addition to this, Orchid plants are very sensitive. Unless, the constant temperature is not maintained the orchid plants may die soon. Not only this, but factory also consumes lot of ground water, so the water level in our village may acutely go down, this may reduce the area of rivers in our village. Thus, we may loose all orchid gardens and all wild life animals, and the fame of our village.
Secondly, factory destroys the Individual privacy. We have our own ritual, traditions, and cultural values. Factory management may appoint lot of new employees, and provide housing units to their employees in our area. Factory employees’ children may attend our community school and change our children’s attitude. The noise of night hour’s work in the factory, and the siren blowers may disturb the people’s sleep. Many new businessmen from outside may start their business in our area to provide the people requirement. Moreover, factory may start their own bus service to their employees, and the factory may request the government to provide public transportation into our village, so it may leads the stranger could access our village easily. Besides, our children may not be able to play in the streets like they were before because of the trucks and other vehicles that carry raw materials, and mails to the factory. Being new people roaming in our community, we may not be able to protect our properties. Furthermore, In order to protect the community the government may implement strict rules. Thus, we will loose our privacy.
Finally, factory provides various kinds of pollutions such as Air pollution, Water pollution, and Noise pollution. Generally factory works 24/7. Factory buildings create lot of heat. Heat generated from the factory walls may create significant changes in the atmosphere. It could change the density of air and help the dust particles float into the air. In addition to this, factories rely on machineries and heavy duty vehicles for its purposes such as handling raw materials, conveying product to the market, and commutation of workers. The toxic particles present in the emitted smoke out of these vehicles, and machineries may blend with the air, and could create lot of lung, and skin diseases. The factory waste water may mix with the rivers around the area; therefore, the pure water becomes contaminated and it could kill the fish and other living organisms in the water. Moreover, the contaminated water produce various kinds of diseases such cholera, and diarrhea. Also it produces other chronic diseases. Stacking solid wastages either inside or outside the factory campus could bring lot of health issues. Noises out of factory machines and vehicles may increase the human mental worry. Due to these continuous noises, people may be affected by psychological disorders.
In summary, Even though there are some advantages in building a large factory near to my community, I oppose the idea of building a large factory near to my community because it could change our village landscape appearance, our people’s lifestyles, and people’s health condition.
