Hi Torsten,
i am concerned about the scoring of the TOEFL sections, in particular the scale scores of 0- 30. For example, if I have 3 passages in the Reading section and overall of , let say 40 points of 46 questions, that would be a 0.87% for the whole section. So, does this mean that my score in the Reading section is 0.87*30= 26 points? Considering that I have only 1 or 2 questions wrong on each passage, isn't that a very bad score?!?
The book i am studying for the TOEFL, Cracking the TOEFL iBT, reads that one will get a point for each correct answer and a penalty for each incorrect answer. Is that right? I thought we get either a point for each correct answer or zero points for each incorrect answer.
And one more query to clarify.. There is a summary question at the end or questions with more than one correct answers in every passage. those questions are usually worth more than 1 point. How do they score them? If you have a partially correct answer, do they give you any points for this?
I would appreciate any help and information on the above-mentioned questions! Thanks in advance!!!
best regards, Neli |
