Hello,
Actually, it is not that easy to give detailed information about the origin of the English language here. You basically need to read some books. I would suggest these books: Lynda Mugglestone, The Oxford History of English / English: History, Diversity and Change (English Language: Past, Present & Future) by David Graddol / and, Albert C. Baugh “A History of the English Language".
It seems like reading the above-mentioned is taxing. You can read only one of them. Simply choose the one that suits or fits you.
I have the aforementioned books, so in case you do not find them, contact me
Take care. |

Check those books first, but I think English's ancestors are Swedish/Norwegian/Danish (Scandinavian languages) and German. The language also shares Latin and French (etc.) cognates (or words more loosely based on those languages... or language, considering French's basis in Latin). _________________ Billie Jean is not my lover.
