TOEFL® essay: What are the important qualities of a good son or daughter?

Some of the characters we expect in a good son or daughter are :They must have discipline,moral responsibility,helping nature,good understanding nature,must have respect to elderly ,must be able to appreciate other's help, able to show love and affection to friend's,family member's ,must be optimistic,intelligent, and must be a good listener.
For example, If we come across an accident on road, and if you are the first person to see that ,then its your responsibility to call 911 and let them know.
Every individual should be taught about the responsibilities, because nowadays, people are thinking about themselves and there families and leaving out external world .Day by day individuals are becoming selfish.
It is parents responsibility to teach them how to help others.In many countries like India,parents te'ach them how to respect elderly ,but in this modern era young adults are thinking about themselves.
If the adults continue to behave in the same way, then there is no meaning for help and support.
My conclusion is,individual should respect the mankind and should behave in a good way.
