I was told that I should leave my application with you.
There is enough! There is no use such language.
If we had a car, we would not have to go by coach
It is no good for him apologising to me now.
I was wondering if you saw Kevin recently?
Hardly I put down the receiver down than there was a knock at the door
I told Julie I might not able to come to come.
Smoking habit can bad for your health
Do you mean to say she comes now?
A sandwich?Wouldn't you better have that gorgeous meringue?
I would have come if you send me an invitation
I really don't like to be invited for formal receptions. |

. There are problems with several of your original sentences and given choices. These are correct:
I was told that I should leave my application with you.
That is enough! There is no need for such language.
If we had a car, we would not have to go by coach.
It is no good his apologising to me now.
I rather enjoy a good wine.
I was wondering if you had seen Kevin recently.
Hardly had I put down the receiver when there was a knock at the door.
I told Julie I might not be able to come.
The smoking habit can be bad for your health
If only you had told me earlier, I could have helped you out.
A sandwich? Wouldn't you rather have that gorgeous meringue?
Do you mean to say she is coming now?
I would have come if you had invited me.
I really don't like being/to be invited to formal receptions. . _________________ Native English teacher at Mister Micawber's |

Mister Micawber:
I think (for the Past): "If we HAD had a car, we would not have gone by coach. "
Is this correct?
Thanks, Suresh |

. If you wish to put the present-sentence original example into past form, it would be:
If we had had a car, we would not have had to go by coach. . _________________ Native English teacher at Mister Micawber's |
