However, now that I am achieving a post secondary education, i have come to realized how important grammar and English is. Therefore, i am looking for help in ways that i can improve how i write. I will like to post here a corrected version of your first day at work.

It had (past participle use it to indicate the past of another event, in this case it was a difficult interview before the company hired you) been a very difficult interview but somehow the company decided that I was the best person for the job. As my first day got nearer, I became more and more nervous, but trying to look confident I reported for duty at 8:30 in the morning as the new sales assistant. A very serious looking manager showed me around the store and introduced me to other staff-members in the computer department, where I had to work. At first, during the morning, was very quiet but later that afternoon, it became busy and I had to deal with a very bad tempered customer who kept asking me to show him different pieces of equipment, and at the end he decided that he didn’t want any of them and left the shop. My boss congratulated me on the way I had handled the situation. However, by then I was feeling very tired and must admit I kept looking at the clock. When it hit six o'clock, they turned off the main lights and slowly the shop started to empty. I could then relax and look forward to a nice little holiday of two days. You see, my first day fortunately was on a Friday.

I am not an expert in writing, i also have writing difficulties, but here is a corrected format of what you wrote, please review it and compare it with what you wrote.

My city.
I wasn’t born in the city where i reside, but I have live there since I was 7 years old, and I love it. Why? Because, it is a beautiful and peaceful city although it has some problems with traffic and environment as any other big city.

On rush-hour, most of roads and streets have traffic-jam. This is because there are too many cars on the road. Now, that the city’s economy is developing, is causing many people who have money to buy cars. However, many streets are to small and old. There isn’t enough parking space, and as a result many cars are parking on the road. So the streets look even smaller with those cars there.

This is also causing the city pollution problems. The smoke from the cars, the rubbish and the dirt from the buildings, is destroying the environment.

However, my city is a beautiful capital. From the heights, you can see the green and the many lakes it has, example: Hoan Kiem Lake, West Lake, Thien Quang Lake, Ba Mau Lake, Bay Mau Lake, etc. Additionally, there are some rivers that runs through the city like: Red River, Kim Ngu River, To Lich River,etc., and there are many streets which are covered by the big trees. I like walking around those streets. The lakes and the trees help to reduce the pollution for the city.

Moreover, I like my city most on holidays. On those days, many people who are in other provinces come back to their hometown. Additionally others travel away. So the streets are quiet. And I love that. I feel safe and sound. Not crowed, not noisy, not dusty. At that moment, I get to see Old Hanoi, quiet and peaceful Hanoi as I saw it when I was a kid.

If you can, please come to Hanoi, come to Vietnam. You’ll love it like me. It’s very wonderful.
