'Yesterday wasn't my day' #220 (permalink) Fri Sep 11, 2009 16:58 pm   'Yesterday wasn't my day'

Week ago I was asked by my teacher to presented an essay before 5 pm yesterday afternoon, but i wasn't ready for it. Honestly I always tried to be punctual and do what people asked me to do, specially if it is come for an academic things, but, I don't know how? this task just flied out of my head... I knew that I'm going to be penalized for being not serious and this might affected my grade..but there wasn't any other option for me to do, I was supposed to presented the essay and that's was it!! My lesson usually begun at 2 pm, and there was no enough time for me to finished it, I know it sounds stupid and I should have asked my teacher to give me more time, but I didn't. I desisted to horrid and I made a lot of mistakes as I horrid. When I presented it, my teacher wasn't happy with it, and she warned me, that, if next time I will do the same thing it going to affects my grades.

Next time, I'll try to be more serious!!

Yeah, that`s really a great idea!!! Just because of some practice for everyone. Unfortunately a lot of people are really afraid of writing and even more importantly-posting. And that is really a problem I should say. As for me, I think I`ll write something for sure/ Besides I can try and write some monologues of mine which I`m going to present at my exams during this session, and that would be nice if somebody read them, criticized or just dwelled on them..just for fun or..well, I don`t know if anybody has enough time I`ll apreciate the fact that somebody really DOES read my small compositions.
Well, I think it`s only up to a person: whether he wants to share and to try or not.

But still it`s a great idea and I`ll write if I find enough time for sure!

How can I improve my writing skills? #224 (permalink) Sat Sep 19, 2009 15:11 pm   How can I improve my writing skills?

I want to improve my writing skill as well, but when I try to write something in English I often get stuck by some of words, I don't know which the right words to express what I think. Besides that sometimes I'm not sure which grammar I have to use in my writing, I think I need to practice my writing skill more often now ( since I was busy in the last few months I learned English regularly). The other problem is the word order, because I'm still think in my languange, I guess I have made lots of mistakes when I make an English sentence, because no one can correct my writing here . That's why I have decided to join this forum hoping that we can help each other to improve our writing, grammar and pronunciation. :)

it happens to me as well #225 (permalink) Sat Sep 19, 2009 15:42 pm   it happens to me as well

Same situation happens to me when I'm trying to write something that required to express my opinion. Sometimes I'm just getting stuck, and after a while I'm OK whith the task. Even though, I'm trying to learn as much as I can( I mean a new words), they are immediately flying away as soon as I'm trying to used them. I noticed that when I'm reading a book or an article, it is much easier for me to remember things than if I'm trying to just remember them in order. And also, everyday I'm trying to read the native speaking forums, and read them as much as I can. Honestly, it really helps enough, It's much easier to remember things for me, than to just learning a new words. It helps me to built up my writing, etc. I have found that reading and listening to the music, it is great resources of building up your vocabulary.
