My name is Angie from Vancouver, Canada. My background is kind of complicated as I was born and raised in Malaysia of Chinese descent. Studied Chinese high school in Malaysia. Learning English as a second language since grade one.

I would like to improve my English especially the grammar part. I have a good grasp of vocubulary and idioms of English but somehow my English is not adequate. I was disappointed to myself that I did'nt make good use of the chance to improve my English since I was in Canada for over 30 years mainly due to the fact that I was working and raised a family of two grown up daughters.

I am retired now and am enjoying learning English via email. Would like some comments.

Thanks!

Hi Angie,

I am not sure but I have just clicked the 'answer' button :) It happens sometimes that you feel somewhat isolated from the beauty of the language when you become a passive user of the language. By passive I meant, lessened reading, listening, speaking or writing. You can not enjoy the language unless you explore all these four elements with the same enthusiasm.

Please correct me if I am wrong as I am not a native English speaker. But I love English a lot.

~Gray.
