Mr. Torsten & Kitos
Really thanks for guiding me
Actually, I think there was some confusion in understanding this confusing question. I thought that upper teeth mean=upper side of theet.
thanks both for this prompt response.
one more question
I heard recording of Sue Darville and it's really very effective and understandable, I really enjoyed it but she pronounced a word "often" as same "often" but here in my country "Pakistan" I have heard from many people they pronounce it as "ofen" instead of "often" Please explain can we pronounce both or the right pronounce is "often" not "ofen" |

He answered much more right questions, but still has only 60% progress report! -- please read a rule Number 2.
3900 questions he tried to answer, so that we count as 100%! Then 1% would be 39 right aswers, and only then we have 62.74% progress report! |
Dear Svitlana,
Please see my progress report formula in this example: http://www.english-test.net/progress_report/index.php?user=15577
Rule Number Number 1
If one test has been taken more than 1 time we use for the end results ONLY the most current value.
Correct: (0% + 100% + 100% + 100%) / 4 Tests = 75%
Incorrect: (0% + 100% + 100% + 100% + 0%) / 5 Tests = 60%

Rule Number 2
We send each learner a progress report via email and add the rest of the data to the saved results in the data base (you can view it online). Please read more here: Progress Value Calculation
Example: One user has taken 100 tests. He gets 2 reports via email.
1. After first 60 tests our system sends the last 30 tests (via email). - Result: e.g. 50% progress for these last 30 tests (results saved in data base) - 30 tests are for online view
2. After the next 30 tests our system sends the last 30 tests (via email). - Result: e.g. 75% progress for these last 30 tests (results saved in data base) - 30 tests are for online view
3. After next 10 tests we have a total of 100 tests by one user. - 60 tests (2X30) have been sent via email - 40 tests you can see online with e.g. 90% progress
The total result is (50% + 75% + 90%) / 3 = 76,25%

hope that it will help. |

Hi Torsten, I've done all the listening exercises and I think the sistem works very well. What I could suggest is that the woman's voice would be changed, because when I am asked about "what the woman said", I can't distinguish the woman's voice from that of the man's. Also, im my opinion, there are too many questions about forecasts, traffic situation and speeches. I don't know if the exam is just like that, but in terms of learning practical English, I think that other subjects could be more explored. Excuse me if the considerations I've made are innapropriate, but they are exactly how I felt. Thank you for your attention. M.Cecília. |

Hi, Mr Torsten: I'm Tuyet. I visit forum to express my idea about toeic comprehension listening. I agree wiith Janelle that the voice of women in the mp3 similar to that of men. Maybe this causes mistakes for listeners who are not native of British. But anyway, the accents of speakers are very english. |

Hi Tuyet,
Input in this context means 'opinion'. Come down in this context means 'reduce the price'. Do you have a minute means 'do you have a little time for me'?

Hello, Tosten
I have some problems in TOEIC listening because I don’t know how the American actually uses words in conversation.
On TOEIC listening III, part 4, exercise 7 The man asked for a second -interview the woman, but correct answer is “to schedule a meeting”. Then I understand the meaning of meeting includes job-interview. I considered this matter as below. Please give me some advices.
1 ,She is the only one finalist, so he will not need to check if she is qualified, so a second job-interview is a meeting, but if there are more finalists, he has to have a third interview, in this case, American do not say a meeting.
2, Job-interview is one kind of meeting, so occasionally job-interview is called meeting.
On TOEIC listening III, part 4, exercise 9, I understand that be out of town means to take a business trip. But I would make sure when the woman go to trip on vacation, if I can say that the woman is out of town.
Thank you, Michiru |
