Dear Sir Thanks for your Toeic Listening Exercises which I finished two days back after spending long time.I would like to share my view with you. I found most of the exercises were easy and some of the exercises were tough to attend. To attend this exercise without mistakes, three things to be followed. (i.e)1.Listening 2.Concentration 3. Memory. Listening: We should listen audio and text properly Concentration: By attending this exercise our concentration should not get diverted by looking T V Phone calls and other work. Memory:What we decided to answer should not get changed at the time of answer. If we follow these things we can easily answer all the exercise.I have done several mistakes due to my carelessness. I could learn some new words through this exercise which I never used before and quiz also impressed me.
Mr Tortsen Sir emphasised in many lessons that listsening is logic of learning process of English which I could not follow it so due to lack of unterstanding of pronounce and accent. I would like to thank Mr Alan Sir who has given very good explanation for Pronounce(Grammmer) which I never learnt before sir. I want Mr Alan Sir to write one more Easy like Ever Green it should be simple and easy to understand by all. (IInd Language English people like me)
My kind request why don't you try to talk Indian English, so that we can undersstand easily. My Sincere thanks to all of you

Hi. I would like to ask about TOEIC listening 4 -3 "Entering a shop" The statement D is "The pushchair has six wheels." And probably the correct statement which the examiner thinks would be "The pushchair has four wheels."
BUT If we're looking carefully, the pushchair has four legs, the backward two legs have one wheel each, and the foreword two legs have two wheels each, and the sum of the wheels are six.
Therefore I think the statement D is also correct.
If you ask, "How many wheels does the pushchair have?", I will answer, "It has 6 wheels". OR Had I better answer "It has 4."?
What do you think? I'm interested in this matter, because there might be the cultural difference between English and my language;Japanese. Thank you in advance. |

TOEIC listening 6-3 (TOEIC listening I, part 6, exercise 4) The cold cabinet
Hi. I think "The man in the white coat is bald" is also correct. Don't you describe such a man as "bald"?
Thank you. |

Dear Sir Listening Exercise (The Cold Cabinet) TOEIC Listening Exercise I Part 6 exercise 4 Answer: A The man is kneeling in front of the cabinet is correct answer.
The man in the white coat is bald is not exactly correct. Because Bald means without hair on head and bare.

You have a point regarding the number of wheels and we'll change that. However, the man in that picture most definitely is not bald.
Thanks, Torsten

Dear Torsten,
I'm very interested in listening to audio about the spokeman's pronounciation in the TOEIC. We can be aware of vocabularies and the meaning of phrases. The studio and the audio are nice in appearence and listening. So I like them and I would like to do them every day.

Wanted to ask whether we have to use "the" before ordinal numerals. If we do then please explain why don't we use it in such cases as: "It's on the corner of 7th and Main." (Taken from here: http://www.english-test.net/toeic/listening/what_was_your_former_occupation.html
May be, it is due to the fact that definite article here applies to the whole of the phrase "the corner of 7th"?! _________________ I find your Lack of Faith disturbing!

Hi Gheon,
The definite article (the) is primarily used as the adjective suggests, to define one noun as distinct from another. In the test sentence - It's on the corner of 7th and Main' - '7th' is a description of the street or if you like, its name. It is not necessarily telling you that this is the seventh street. We would say - Walk down 5th Avenue and then take the second turning/street on your left.
