I can't understand why the answer in part 7,ex.10 (The player nearest the camera has just hit the ball) is wrong. It seems that he really has just done it?

Hi Mila,

The player nearest the camera has not just hit the ball -- he is waiting to hit the ball back. The player in the back has just hit the ball. Please look at the photo again:

This is simple maths: As of now you have answered 2872 questions 997 of which were correct. This means your overall score is 47%. To improve your score you need to answer more questions correctly. For more details, please read the progress reports you receive via email.

TOEIC listening I, part 9, exercise 1
Scuba divers in action

81). Scuba divers in action
A) The people in the picture are sky diving.
B) One of the divers is holding a breathing device in their right hand. -- CORRECT
C) All the divers are dressed in red.
D) The ground is covered with snow.

http://www.english-test.net/toeic/listening/scuba_divers_in_action.html
Can someone explain to me the reason why the above answer is correct?
If you look at the picture you will see three people holding breathing devices!
And then, they say "one of the divers" (plural) "in their right hand" (also plural, but why "their")

Thank you.
Lana.

P.S. I am sorry, if it's hard to understand my question.

Dear Torsten,

I also noticed, that since I am listening to the listening exercises my Progress Report went down from 80% to 60%.
I don't want to say, that most of my answers were right, but I would say, I didn't answer one out 10 correct, so that should be 90%.
Some other tests I did make mistakes, but it looks like "Listening Exercises" are making your report much lower!

Best regards.

Dear Svitlana,
Many thanks for your question. It really helps me to improve the algorithm of the progress report.

Thanks to you I've fund a mistake. As it turns out, the 60% is not your correct progress score. Instead, it should be about 79,8%!

Now I need some time to change the scripts so your progress will be displayed correctly.

PROGRESS VALUE CALCULATION #101 (permalink) Wed May 13, 2009 13:31 pm   PROGRESS VALUE CALCULATION

Dear Svitlana and Nice Rose,

Please see my progress value calculation on this snapshot.

Source: http://www.english-test.net/progress_report/index.php?user=8096

All results are saved in a database. But the size of the database has a limitation. So when a user takes 60 tests, our system deletes the last 30 test results from the current online view and saves them in another database as cumulative data. These results are then sent to you in your email progress report.

After that you can see your online progress report as the sum of your current progress plus your saved progress score divided by 2.

For example, Svitlana has a saved progress value of 36.63% and an actual value of 85,58%.

(36.63%+85,58%)/2 = 61,10% -- your results are here http://www.english-test.net/progress_report/index.php?user=17296

You can improve your progress value by taking the same test more than one time. Requirement: Your score must go up.

How would you explain the following calculations?

And then lets have a look at another member
Dasas 3900 2447 60.34% 29 Jan 2009 5

He answered much more right questions, but still has only 60% progress report!

3900 questions he tried to answer, so that we count as 100%!
Then 1% would be 39 right aswers, and only then we have 62.74% progress report!
