Hi everyone,

I don't understand the word 'assumed' here and its tense. Could you please help me?

She also recently assumed responsibility for our workforce compensation, international benefits, and global mobility teams.

Thank you for your response

Assumed is an adjective, it means here making an assumption without having perfect proof.

I don't think so, Jack....

In the context of this sentence, assumed is a verb in past present tense, meaning that she took over the responsibility...
