There have been and will be quite a few layoffs here in Germany, especially in the automobile industry. I think this trend will continue for the next 12 to 18 months and then the economy will pick up again. Every crisis bears the seed of an equivalent benefit and Germany has long been one the richest countries in the word and I can't see how this will ever change. _________________ Test Of English for International Communication TOEIC Preparation & TOEIC Vocabulary |

My state and city have been hit very hard by the financial crisis, but luckily most of the people I know are still employed. I think it's because most of my friends and relatives are in recession-proof professions. And at a time like this, you're usually safer if you are in business for yourself, rather than working for a company.
A lot of people think that Chinese competition is going to kill most of the industry in my state, but I don't agree. People said the same thing about Japanese competition around 1980, but our industry simply restructured and became more prosperous than ever. Then suddenly Japan was in trouble, and not us. |
