I want to improve my writing skills and my ability to convey my thoughts/views. #1 (permalink) Thu Dec 25, 2008 13:06 pm   I want to improve my writing skills and my ability to convey my thoughts/views.

Hi,

In our day to day life,we interact with most of our friends and collegues in english. Even though, english is not the primary language in our countries. Yet, it is very important to communicate in english in our day to day activities.

In this today's world, you can win only when you are able to convey your message or thoughts to others, not only in terms of spoken english but also you should be very good in writing skills.

I especially want to improve my writing skills, improve my ability to convey my thoughts/views.

Please help me and correct me if i go wrong anywhere.

Thanks in advance,
Nutan B

One way you can start is by using correct capitalization. I counted at least five capitalization errors in your post, and I doubt this was the way your teachers taught you to write in English (or in "english", as you call it).

Thanks Jamie for corecting me.

It was my mistake to write 'english' instead of 'English'.

We should always start the name of the person,cities,languages....etc with capital letters.

Thank you

You should also write "I" and not "i".

Hi! everybody,
I want to improve my writing skill because learning any language we have to learn four skills; reading , writing, speaking and listening. As you know, we can call reading and writing as a productive skill and on the one hand , speaking and listening as a receptive skill. According to this fact, to improve our productive skill we will have to produce as much as we can such as reading articles for reading skill and write our journal (daily diary) etc. And also to improve our receptive skill, we need to speak each other whenever or wherever we can and listen
to native speakers' accent .This means that we need to receive the things that we will produce again naturally.
May everybody continue to achieve his or her success!

Hello everyone!
The financial storm aross the global in your country. In this sentence, I don't understand the word 'aross' and the whole sentence as well.
I think that you may probably want to know about the crisis arose the global in our country. If so, we are facing this too. If not , please give me some more information about this fact.
Thank you.

"Aross" is not an English word, and "the global in your country" makes no sense either. The whole sentence is nonsense, so it's a good sign that you didn't understand it.

Logically speaking, don't you think that writing/speaking are the productive skills, and listening/reading are receptive ones?

Good non-fiction writing is clear, concise and direct.
