Why do you say this? It would seem that quite a number of people have pursued this, and their answers often have much in common. Who is to judge worth? :-)
Let's see what Hot For Words has to say about this:

It is indeed a pointless and fruitless quest. There is no (theoretical) longest word in English.
You can always keep adding prefixes and suffixes to a word to make it longer. Granted, it rapidly becomes convoluted to the point of meaningless, but there's no limit.
Consider:
Establish Establishment Disestablisment Disestablishmentarian Antidisestablishmentarian Antidisestablishmentarianism Preantidisestablishmentarianism Preantidisestablishmentarianismical Neopreantidisestablishmentarianismical Postneopreantidisestablishmentarianismical Pseudopostneopreantidisestablishmentarianismicalist Antipseudopostneopreantidisestablishmentarianismicalist
Etc. etc, ad naseum. There, I've just beat your 45 letter word by another 10 letters, with no end in sight.
Granted, I don't have the eye candy she does to back it up, though.
Now, can we stop asking this question? _________________ Plan to be spontaneous tomorrow.
