Hi everyone,

I am quite confused with the sentence below, in particular with the word in red.

There are no per diems provided for employees, where meals are provided. This is the case with IBM training facilities and with some other external training facilities. If no meals are provided, then employees may then claim per diem or actual meals (as directed by their Company course coordinator).

Thank you for your explanation. Very Happy

Hello Liqichao

The meanings are:

Meals are provided (for people attending a course) at IBM training facilities.

"Actual meals" means the meals that people actually eat. In order to for an employee to claim and be reimbursed for "actual meals", they would have to save all of their receipts in order to prove what their meal expenses actually were.

"As directed by their Company course coordinator" means an employee has to claim their expenses in accordance with what the person who coordinates the courses tells them. The course coordinator would tell employees whether they have to claim per diem expenses or whether they have to submit receipts for their actual expenditures.

Hello Expert,

Thank you very much for clarification.
I make some sentences using the words posted first above and could you help me to find some misuse if it happens. Thank you.

The target audience of XX training program is consulting workforce and manager below, which is the case with OOO trainng program.

'As directed by ...', according to your explanation, in my understanding, means 'be informed or told by ... or do what somebody tell you'.
Eg: You will get better performance if you do the job well as directed by your supervisor.
