Qatar and Dubai! Of course you will love the Middle East. I am planning to go to Dubai in the not-too-distant future. |

Well okay, off the top of my head. Correct me if I'm wrong:
- Mostly Muslim (Sunni and Shi'a) - Mostly arid, though there are mountainous regions and tropical regions - Mostly male-dominated (by custom and, in some places, law) - There are theocracies, dictatorships and democracies (or at least young democracies) - The cuisine generally (except in coastal areas, at least) includes a lot of lamb, beef, bread and yogurt-based spicy sauces (YUM!!) - "Drifting" is becoming popular (drift-racing) - The calendar is different from the Western (Gregorian?) calendar - Family and tradition are incredibly important - There continue to be violent clashes resulting from very old religious differences (as between Shi'a and Sunni in Iraq, though in that case it's now politically motivated also) - Soccer is increasing in popularity and Middle Eastern club teams and national teams are improving - Dubai is the Las Vegas of the Middle East (or is Las Vegas the Dubai of North America?) _________________ Billie Jean is not my lover. As far as I am concerned, Las Vegas is the Dubai of North America. |

I wonder if Chiitas, Sunitas, and others fight in all mid east countries, or there are countries where they live in peace. Is that an effect of petrol? Alfwm _________________ A cup of good coffe can make life bearable. |

I've been told that they are the most welcoming people in the world. I heard they rub noses with each other when they meet in Kuwait, or Qatar. Is that true?
I shall love to try it some day. Sounds fun to me. :D |

Thank you for taking the trouble finding me the picture. :)
I wonder though, if there is any meaning to the tradition. :?:

You can try it in the mirror ;) you will be safe.
By the way, your earring looks same as some traditional earrings in Morocco:

Err...not so sure about that. But I think I know how it would feel like. I literally squish my niece's nose whenever I smooch her.

What eyes you have! They do look similar. I love this kind of earrings, which reminds me -- if there is anything I love most about Middle east, it's the woman's accessories, earrings in particular. :D |

Yeah, I have an acute eyesight. I am like a character in Arabian Mythology called Blue Dove "زرقاء اليمامة". She was able to see you even if you are three days away! I am not as good as her, though. |

I don't know much about Middle East, but as I was reading the whole discussion I've found out that the problem [well, for me it's not a problem] with students cheating, begging, lying and generally being unfair may also refer to Middle/Eastern European countries [or at least to Poland, where I live]. But here it looks like everything and everyone is unfair. Also, people here often give you food even if you say 'no'. Especially older ones.

In Polish, word pronounced 'qatar' means 'rhinitis' so be careful twice. |
