Hello everyone,

my name is zaid,

the story behind my name, "i'm not sure about" since i cant recall much,

but i think my grandfather, chooses this name for me.

he was entering the house, and while he was walking toward where i was.

he thought about this name "in a second", with no apparent reason.

my name, means in english "Growth & More" i guess.
its an arabic name.
and i like it,,,

people call me Zaza, Zaidon, Abu Al.zeez, Abu Al.zooz. etc...

that was my story...

and thats how i became Zaid.

My first name is Thomas (Tom), which is Aramaic. It's fairly common in the English-speaking Western world.

My middle name is Paul, in honor of my maternal grandfather, who is still kicking at the ripe old age of 92.

In honor of Johnny Cash I may name my first child Sue, whether it be a boy or a girl.

Or maybe I'll name the poor thing after a common ingredient on nearly every shampoo bottle I've ever seen:

The poor child's nickname would naturally be "Meth"... really, that would be mean.

"Yo, I heard that Tony's mom frequently does meth."
"Poor Meth. Hahahahaha..."

But when you consider some of the ridiculous names some Americans saddle their babies with -- Chandelariqua, Moniqua, Lacretia, etc. -- naming a child Sue or Methylchloroisothiazolinone doesn't seem so bad.

Then there's the troublesome practice of misspelling established names:

Angella
Micheal
Dyrriyck (...and the obsession with Y when it messes up what should be easy names to spell)... sofa king we Todd it)

etc.

What's wrong with Tom, James, John, Sarah, Mary, etc.?
I know some parents want to seem creative and (hence) name their kids "Shawnequa" or "Klowertingela"... but they ought to think about the child: will my kid be ripped on and/or beat up because of the name I give him or her?
