Yeah, that sucks.
Less annoying (but probably more frequent) is the instance in which the person in front of you takes half an hour completing a turn -- I'm thinking about being in the right lane, doing about 30-40 mph, and coming to a complete stop to wait... and wait... and wait for the person in front of me to turn right, into a traffic-free parking lot.
By the time the person completes the turn (or gets off the road at least) he's doing about 1 mph... and I'm sitting there shouting "Turn! Turn! Turn!"
Maybe I don't have enough patience, but my goodness, it'd be nice if drivers would recognize when they're holding up traffic and step on it.
Green lights are another thing: I'm the tenth guy in line. The light turns green and the first car sits there for a good five seconds. We finally start moving but by the time I near the intersection, the light is yellow. I wish people were more mindful of the people behind them, the people waiting on them.
The slow green-light intersection crosser vies for my top driving pet peeve with the left-lane blocker -- the soccer mom doing the speed limit, or less, in her minivan or SUV, in the way of faster traffic.
I try not to be hypocritical:
If I'm at the head of a line at an intersection, once the light turns green I look left and right quickly and then darn near floor it until I'm approximately 5 mph over the speed limit -- if someoneisn't going to make it through the intersection before the light turns red again, it won't be because of me.
And if I'm in the left lane speeding (reasonably) merrily along and I notice lights approaching or stuck on my tail, I move out of the way or, if that isn't possible, I increase my speed in an attempt to appease the pursuing driver. If it gets to the point where I'm now 15 over the limit, I still can't move over and the guy is still on my rear bumper, I pull a 007 and release rear-projected missiles. hehe _________________ Billie Jean is not my lover.
