2-they are in the car at 1:15

Buses are often envisioned as large flat surfaces for people, but the word takes either in or on: I'm riding in/on the bus. Cars are too small and container-like to be easily envisioned as a surface, so we are always in cars: I am riding in the car.

Also, the times are different in your two sentences.
