Could you please tell me what are the differences among the the sentences below?
and are all the six have a common use?

1-He came down with flu.
2-He went down with flu.
3-He fell / took sick with flu.
4-He was laid low with flu.
5-He laid up with flu.
6-He became ill with flu.

1-He came down with the flu.
This means he got the flu.

2-He went down with flu.
I'm not sure if people say this or not. It sounds familiar, but I don't usually hear people say it.

3-He fell / took sick with the flu.
We usually say he took sick, or he fell sick, and we don't say what the illness was.

4-He was laid low with the flu.
Yes.

5-He was laid up with the flu.
This means his flu was so bad that he had to stay in bed.

6-He became ill with the flu.
Yes.
