Hi I havn't read all texts but in some of the messages it says that you can't be good at English if you forget to use the capital letter when writing English for example. Many of us I suppose should never do such mistakes if we had been using a pen or a pencil. We should never write "I loke English" for exemple. Ok we can preview our messages before sending them but it's very easy to miss that sort of typos. /Maria |

Hi Dear Alan&Torsten, I firmly believe a teacher must have 3 important features: 1)being knowledgeable about what he/she wants to teach 2)being experienced and skilled at teaching 3)being kind to their students And I'm pretty sure your team have got all mentioned above. Turning to three things you need to learn, there's nothing left to add to your useful advice. This also implies that those who wants to learn English have to take a lot of factors into account in their decision-making. Well! You showed us the right path, now we must follow it through hard work to work our way up from being a disappointed loser to being a real winner. Lot's of thanks, Morteza |

Good morning Morteza. I wrote a lengthy reply to your post earlier this morning, and then, like the fool that I am, I somehow deleted it whilst thinking I had posted it. However I will post the gist of it again, for I think it needs to be said.
Anyway,I'm sure that both Alan and Torsten deserve all of the accolades that you put their way. I don't really know at what level of English you were when you first joined the Forum because I have only been here myself for about three months, but your command of English and grammar is commendable.
Have you been a teacher for many years, or have you only recently taken teaching on as an occupation?
I really have "lost" most of that which I originally had intended to post, but I'll just say in closing that you are a shining example as to just how good a non-native person can really progress in learning English, when they have the determination and will to do so.

Hi Tatyana!
I'm Jose. I come from Madagascar. I'm a learner of english. I want to improve my english: speaking, reading, writing and listening. That is why I subscribed myself to this course. Sometimes I act as though I lose my faith but I don't give up and I try to follow the teacher's advices.

Hi everyone,
This is Lisa speaking. First of all,.. although it is not my first post, but i rarely in this forum. I signed up for the english online lesson here, but as u know i have time problem too. I just read the email from the newsletter. But in the newsletter I got today, I'm impresed and I want to try to record my voice to... I think it's can be fun. Alright, I have a homework from my English course teacher. It's to write the location of everything in my room. We are in the lesson of preposition. So I try to write about it. This is my paragraph, please correct me if I'm wrong, i mean both in my paragraph or my pronounciation
"My room... There is a bed on the floor. It's completed with 2 pillows on the bed. The bed is located in front of my desk. Actualy I have 2 tables, one is use as desk, and the other one is for make up table. All of my make up things are on that table. Next to my make up table there is a wardrobe. I put all my clothes in that wardrobe, but I feel that wardrobe is little overload now. So maybe next weekend I will put my old and rarely used clothes in a box and put the box up to the wardrobe. I have few paper bags under my make up table. There is a wastebasket in the right besides my makeup table. I usually hang on my suit or jacket behind the door. I also have a clock hang on the wall, the wall next to my desk"
OK that's all. How do you think? Can you imagine what is my room looks like? |

everyone has a different way to learn English. for me,there are four things that we can use to acquire English: 1- dictionnary ( we use it for phonetic transcription and knowing how the words are written and also enriching our vocabulary) 2- writing ( it helps you memorize the words in a quick way) 3- listening ( if it is a native speaker it can be better) 4- communicating ( it helps you speak fluent English) |
