Did you practice speaking English to yourself?

Speaking English to myself... That's a good idea. Smile
Beyond a joke, I am a teacher of English. I graduated from the university almost 9 years ago. When I was a student we did courses in Phonetics, Grammar, Oral Practice, less in Listening and Video. In fact, very little of listening and video. I think my greatest problem is listening.

Hi Inga,

Thanks a lot for your latest voice message. I was thinking maybe we could start some kind of online voice exchange project. It would be great if you could invite your students to record voice messages here on the forum and I'm sure other forum users will respond to them.

What do you think?

Well, I can discuss it with my students, but later, when they return from their holidays. I told them about English-test.net and the possibilities it offers, but they are too busy with their networks and applications like Classmates, In Contact, Facebook... Smile

Hi Torsten..

Really I felt like hearing a synthetic computer voice when I listen to your voice message..! It seems like you have a pre-programmed voice to mediate the English lessons to your students..

Here comes my voice with more of a Indian accent or pronunciation.

Please tell me how far I am keeping the correct syllables together.

Thanks for listening and re-recording..

Have a nice day..

Hi Torsten..

When I open other voice messages including mine, a voice message player is popping up and twitting out the message. But when I open your voice messages (two of them) I am hearing message just from your post itself. What is the technical secret..? Or anything wrong with my sound reproduction system..?

Can you please guide me if anything to be done.

Thank you..

I can't agree with you, Sahid.
Torsten's voice sounds lively and encouraging to me. May be too cheerful... Smile

HI
I think the most important thing is to practice a lot and try to memorise what you study.Because practice makes a man perfect. You said it in your mail that we must use capital letters when it requierd. I m trying to follow your rules. How's it ?

Hi Sahid,

Thank you very much for exchanging voice messages with us. The online voice recorder is a great tool, isn't it? As for your question, once you upload a voice message, our system converts it into am MP3 file. This process takes about 15 minutes. After that, you can listen to it through the Flash MP3 player which is integrated into your browser so you can hear it without opening a new window.

Let me know if this makes sense. Regards, Torsten

Hello Inga..

Thanks for your kind attention to my post. I never denied about Torsten's lively and lovely voice..I only meant to say that he sounds like reading a newscast from the displays infront of him..that is all..

Regards,

..

think..talk..listen..write..! #44 (permalink) Tue Feb 03, 2009 21:05 pm   think..talk..listen..write..!

yes..whatever you think..you are writing..
then..whatever you write..you are recording..
preferably we can say..you are reading then..

talk to the microphone while you think..
then listen to the recording to put in to paper..
this will improve, I believe, your language..

any comments..?

Hi Torsten..

Thanks for your reactive and resourceful response.

Remotely hearing the voices makes me like flying up in the sky. Hopefully very soon the email systems will be replaced with this kind of voice mailing as this will be an easy method and will have no difficulties such as typing mistakes or formatting the texts etc.,

In addition, it will knock out the language barriers. Your innovative project, I hope, is going to be one of the pioneers in introducing this voice exchange service. We used to end our letters as ''hope to hearing from you soon..''. where we only mean the word ''hearing'' literally. But now onwards we will mean it with real sense. Thanks a lot and waiting to hearing from you soon.

..
