| Thanks alot Torsten, more and more people are getting excited to learn English these days. I think it is much easier to learn English these days than 20years ago. Thanks to the internet and advanced technology, we can share and transmit news much more quickly on social network protocol . Yesterday I watched a very interesting and cool debate, it rarely happens, we can learn how smartly and elegantly President Obama and congressional leaders were conducting the meeting on health care reform. texts and videos are provided on http://weeklyaddressofobama.blogspot.com . Have a wonderful weekend, guys. |

Yes I know when you are reading this it could be quite late because you are so busy with your job and family. Or is it your study? Whatever your situation, if you can improve your English, you will have more time for the things you like doing most. Why? Because when you speak good English you can work more effectively, meet more intelligent people and establish better business contacts. The big question still is how 'How can I improve my English when I don't have much time'?
First of all, keep in mind that you are not the only person who has this problem. There are millions of people whose schedules might be even busier than yours. Second, you need to understand that it's not important how much time you have. What really counts is how you use your time. This fact is so crucial that I want to repeat for you: The important thing is how you use your time. We all live on the same planet and a day still has 24 hours regardless of what country you live in and what job you do or how many kids you need to care for. Time management starts in your head. Decide what you want to do and you will find the time to do it.
But let's get back to our question: How can I improve my English speaking skills? The answer: Get in touch with native English speakers. Listen to them. Ask them questions. Answer their questions. Learn from them and help them learn from you. "OK", I can hear you say "but how do I do that when I live in China, Russia, India or any other country where there no native speakers in my neighbourhood?" Don't worry. You don't have to move to the US or the UK. You can make friends with native speakers no matter where you live. Use the Internet. Use our forum. All you need to do is listen to the following voice messages and record your own. The first message is from Inga, an English teacher who lives and works in Minsk, the capital of Belarus. In her recording Inga says that she doesn't have much contact with native speakers in Minsk. That's why she uses our forum to talk to people like Alan Townend from London and Tom Kane from the United States. |

| Hello, everyone! I have gone through some messages here in this forum. The lack of time, however, doesn't allow me taking part exactly how I would like to. Greetings to all! |

I am very bad at learning languages. There are so much memorization, rules and exceptions that don't have any logical explanation. I believe that people who perceive music, colors, sounds, a background in general on the higher level are more prone to learning any foreign language. They just feel the language, with all its niceties. I don't have that gift, and I always struggle trying to understand those delicate details, come up with some logical explanation. I need to learn English so that I can communicate with native speakers as a normal human being:}. There are so many things that encourage me to study more, but there is only one BUT-learning English progresses so slowly that I'm loosing interest. I envy people to whom learning language brings a lot of joy and satisfaction. For me this is a difficult job which I wish I could change:}. Why English language is not Mathematics , the science dealing with measurement, numbers, and quantities ?:}} |

That;s great... I like your idea to post the voice messages by encouraging the students with jokes and fun or actually both are the same.. yeaahh. It would be as esy as an apple pie. Thanks |

Hello Tatiana, I am very glad to meet you here on the forum. You say you're the English teacher so I am too. I can speak very good Russian as I come from Georgia and roots are deeply grown to Russian culture and history. I like your English pronounciation. It sounds quite good. |

Hi, Tom
I am Véronique Jean-Baptiste, How are you? It's a pleasure for me to find someone to help me to improve my English. I really need it, because sometime I feel not confortable to speak this language. |

I think that learning English or any other language is fun at the beginning of the learning process. This is the stage where we feel kind of a tourist when everything doesn't matter. Then we move to the second stage and begin to deal with our fears. This stage is very obvious when we begin to look for a job in English speaking country or just try to make a deep relationship with native speakers. At this time, learning English is not a fun. It's a hard work. We start to struggle with our pronunciation, accent, vocabulary. All of us overcome our fears differently. Some of us very easily and painlessly, but some struggles a lot. I think, when we learn English good enough, we can start enjoy learning again. |
