Presentation about Patriotism #1 (permalink) Sun Jan 25, 2009 18:08 pm   Presentation about Patriotism

HI everybody

I have presentation on tuesday about Patriotism
I wrote something about it
but i want someone to correct to me and my ideas are not orgnized
can u help me please????

this what I wrote

Patriotism
I am so happy and lucky because I got the chance to express my feelings toward my Patriotic
First let's see how Palestinians approved that they tried hard to protect their patriotic by
Fighting their and our enemies from the early past till now they didn’t give up and never they will. This is the real patriotism.
Patriotism.. What can I say about patriotism.. There is no life without patriotism..
Can you imagine yourself living without your breath? Without your soul?
This is the feeling when be without love your country.
Let me tell you a little bet about my home. I live in Saudi Arabia , and I am proud to be one . Saudi Arabia has blackston which is the Qeblah for all Muslims . Even the holly Qur'an is revealed in the Arabian Peninsula .
And my country is the only country that applies the Islamic rules
There are a lot of things to say about it
But what I said I think are enough to make me proud of being Saudi
Finally, keep loving your country because If we lost our religion and your home you will have no I identify.

I think you study overseas. So the audience are from different parts of the world. My advice to you is to not include the things you wrote above. You must think of your audience backgrounds.

You can define patriotism first. Then give some examples.(avoid talking about religion)

Yes. Please be neutral in your presentation. Do not talk from Muslims, Jews or Christians points of view. Be neutral.

Yeah, keep the discussion centered on the love of, loyalty toward, and willingness to defend one's country... NOT one's religion.

Look at Iraq: Some Iraqis have swallowed their religious pride to serve a more secular, democratic Iraq. Others want Iraq to be subject to the mandates of their religion.

I think that patriotism needs to be separated from religious zealotry. I am a Christian, but I gladly acknowledge that the greatest patriots in US history include a great mix of people: ages, sexes, races, religions (or lack thereof), etc. -- their personal differences were many but they all found purpose in defending flag and country.

Hi Dody,

If you really want to talk about patriotism you should start using proper words. Don't use fancy chatroom lingo like 'u' and 'i'.

Regards,
Torsten
