Hello Khinelay,
How are you? The three words that you mention are all closely related so I can understand why you might be confused. There are a couple different definitions for each word, but let me explain the way that probably relates best to your question.
Caption: Can mean the title or subtitle of the movie. It can also mean, the translation of the movie’s dialogue…which is very similar to “subtitle.”
Subtitle: Usually, the subtitles are the printed words or translation of the movie. It usually appears at the bottom of the screen. Many times “subtitle” relates to a translating the movie’s dialogue into the mother-tongue of the country where it is being shown.
Script: In a DVD or some other movie, the “script” is the actual text of the movie. For example, let’s say a person was deaf. As the movie was playing, the exact words, or exact “script” of the movie would appear at the bottom of the screen so a deaf person could see what the actors are saying. A script is also the written text that an actor would rehearse before he or she got on stage.
I hope that helps you. Let me know.
Regards, Tom |
