Hello Dianova,

Torsten has been a little extra busy lately, so he asked me to listen to your post and offer a few comments. This is Tom Kane writing.

I listened to your entire recording. I think you did a wonderful job. I truly mean that. Your pacing, or speed at which you spoke was excellent. I understood everything. The story was about a man who was going to get married, but at the end of the story he finally told the girl he was already married. You just can't trust us guys can you? HA!

Anyway, Dianova...continue to do what you are doing. The only way that you will see yourself improving is to continue speaking English whenever possible.

If you have a question about a word, or a phrase, or a sentence that you would like to pronounce better, please let me know.

Hi Mary! I’m really sorry that you’re not at home now because what I have to tell you is very important. But as you’re not there, I’ll have to leave my message on your answer phone. I only hope that your machine has plenty of space left because I’m afraid this is going to be a long message. As I say, I should be telling you this in person and face-to-face but then I don’t have any choice. The problem is I don’t know where to start.

Perhaps I should come clean and tell you that I’m getting cold feet about the two of us getting married. This is I’m afraid very short notice for you as the plan was to have the wedding ceremony the day after tomorrow. I know that your parents will be very upset and probably furious because I know that your father has spent a lot of money for the big day. But then I hope you’ll understand the reason why I shan’t be around when the wedding is due to take place. I thought it best to get as far away as possible because I know that a lot of people will be after my blood! And I can quite understand. I can just imagine you sitting there in your room and listening to this and probably thinking that I’ve gone completely mad. But then you know what I’m like, don’t you? You know all my weaknesses and I have so many of them as well. But the one that’s worst of all is my absentmindedness – you know how I keep forgetting things.

By the way I hope there’s still space on your machine for the whole point of this message. As I say, I do have a very bad memory and am very forgetful. Now just relax and don’t be too angry with me but the main reason why we simply can’t get married is because of what I have simply forgotten to tell you. And you must believe me that this is the absolute truth.
