Hi,

You can new practise your speaking and pronunciation skills by recording the following text here on the forum:

Hi Mary! I’m really sorry that you’re not at home now because what I have to tell you is very important. But as you’re not there, I’ll have to leave my message on your answer phone. I only hope that your machine has plenty of space left because I’m afraid this is going to be a long message. As I say, I should be telling you this in person and face-to-face but then I don’t have any choice. The problem is I don’t know where to start.

Perhaps I should come clean and tell you that I’m getting cold feet about the two of us getting married. This is I’m afraid very short notice for you as the plan was to have the wedding ceremony the day after tomorrow. I know that your parents will be very upset and probably furious because I know that your father has spent a lot of money for the big day. But then I hope you’ll understand the reason why I shan’t be around when the wedding is due to take place. By the time you hear this, I shall already be at the airport and ready to fly to South America.

I thought it best to get as far away as possible because I know that a lot of people will be after my blood! And I can quite understand. I can just imagine you sitting there in your room and listening to this and probably thinking that I’ve gone completely mad. But then you know what I’m like, don’t you? You know all my weaknesses and I have so many of them as well. But the one that’s worst of all is my absentmindedness – you know how I keep forgetting things.

By the way I hope there’s still space on your machine for the whole point of this message. As I say, I do have a very bad memory and am very forgetful. Now just relax and don’t be too angry with me but the main reason why we simply can’t get married is because of what I have simply forgotten to tell you. And you must believe me that this is the absolute truth.

You see Mary, what I haven’t told you is that unfortunately I am already married. Bye.

Hi Torsten and everyone,

You mean we need to record the paragraphs above or what you have said in that message?

Thanks for answering in advance.

Maggie

Hi Torsten and everyone,

I think I understand what's your meaning now. You want us to practice English speaking! It's a kind of training. Sorry for misunderstanding.

Maggie^^

The first post of this message is my record. I wanted to modify the message I wrote, but I was not allowed to do that after having a voice record except deleting the voice record I guess anyway. It's good that this feature allows me to record voice so long.

Speak to you soon and looking forward to seeing another message to pratice pronunciation.

Maggie
