Hello everyone,

There are millions of people around the world who want to improve their English speaking skills. However, only a few of them know how to achieve that goal.

Speaking English requires a lot of practice and constant work. It's similar to doing a sport: Only if you practise it on a regular basis, can you get good at it. That's why we'd like to invite you to record online voice messages together with us here on the forum. Read this text out loud and record your own voice.

Post your recording on the forum so you can get feedback on your pronunciation, intonation and accent. We can even hold contests to nominate the best speaker or to guess the nationality of the reader.

When you are reading and recording this text, you have already overcome the fear of speaking English, which so many of us experience. Isn't that a great feeling? It's the start of your new life as an English speaker!

Hello Dear Olga,

I just listened to your recording. You spoke very clearly, pronounced the words very well and I think your intonation was good too.
How often do you get a chance to speak in English?

Good luck and post more recordings :)

Hello Jimmy,

Every time you're writing a new post, you can see an orange button with a small red microphone icon on it reading "Record voice message".
For more information take a look at this link: http://www.english-test.net/community/3/index.html#How_can_I_record_and_listen_to_audio_messages

Hi,

I have tried to install Java in my computer but it tell me that If I accept to install it will damage or harm my computer. I followed the instructions. I took three hours to do this but I failed. I do not know what to do. I need your help because I want to record my voice.

Bye,

Martha

Hello Jimmy,

first you have to visit the official website of java. (http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp)
Afterwards you should download the file called "Windows 7/XP/Vista/2000/2003/2008 Offline".
If you don't find it, here is the direct link: http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=37981
Then follow the instructions. If it fails again, please tell me, whether you have a 32bit system, or a 64bit one.
Good luck

Dear Martha,

Do you use the Windows Vista alert? You wrote about standard Windows messages by installation of software (e.g. JAVA).

Please don't worry about them and continue your installation.

Best regards
