There are millions of people around the world who want to improve their English speaking skills. However, only a few of them know how to achieve that goal.

Speaking English requires a lot of practice and constant work. It's similar to do doing a sport: Only if you practise it on a regular basis, can you get good at it. That's why we'd like to invite you to record online voice messages together with us here on the forum. Read this text out loud and record your own voice.

Post your recording on the forum so you can get feedback on your pronunciation, intonation and accent. We can even hold contests to nominate the best speaker or to guess the nationality of the reader.

When you are reading and recording this text, you have already overcome the fear of speaking English, which so many of us experience. Isn't that a great feeling? It's the start of your new life as an English speaker!

Hello Akilucia-san,

I am a fellow learner in this forum.
I hope you don't mind that I will be the one who guide you step-by-step in creating your own audio message on this forum.

First, you will need a good headset with a good microphone.
Second, you need to install the SUN JAVA plugin on your PC / MAC.
Once you have completed the two steps above, you can find the instruction at http://www.english-test.net/images/forum/

Good luck with your first audio message and have fun!

Hi Vothanhluyen,
You speak like a native speaker with a nice accent ;)

Btw, judging from your nickname, I think you are Vietnamese, right?

Hi BTW,

Thank you very much for your compliment. It's so nice to know you. I need to practice English more. I catch the rules but it is not easy to speak like a native speaker at all. We need time and a lot of work to achieve that goal.
Yes, I am Vietnamese and now known as Joseph_Learn_to_Speak. Joseph is my Christian name and I like this nick name.
