1) How lovely day it is! But I would prefer - 'How lovely the day is!' Also, 'What a lovely day!' would work.
2) What a clever boy he is! Or 'What a clever boy!'
It is a good habit to capitalize when you write, there is no such thing in speaking :) _________________ First lesson - English, not english. I, not i. ~A student of English |

Hi Gray..here I would like to ask you something..
When you say 'What a lovely day!' there is no mention of the tense. For example one can exclaim..'what a lovey day it was..' (in past tense) or 'what a lovey day it is...' ( in present tense). But when you suggest 'What a lovely day!' in place of 'How lovely the day is!' does it indicate the real meaning..?.
This same concept applies for your second suggestion also. _________________ Sahid59

Hey, I am not a native speaker but my listening vocabulary tells me that the use of the verb is not necessary sometimes in the exclamation like this one. May be, the more emotions we want to put down, we take out more words :)
'What a lovely day!' = 'What a lovely day it is!'
Natives, what do you think? _________________ First lesson - English, not english. I, not i. ~A student of English |
