I am trying to figure out why some recordings are so distorted. I added noise and hum to this recording. I could understand it when played back in the recorder.

I listened to the recording in the forum. I could hear the noise and hum but it was not much worse than the original.

I notice that my voice played using the popup Applet. But some other recordings are played with Flash! Is that the difference?

You'll all be able to listen to my garbled Wisconsin/Tennessee-accented voice sometime soon.

My team is getting a bonus soon (next couple weeks or so) so I'll be able to spend some cash on a microphone.

Until that day arrives, imagine Jerry Lundegard (from the movie "Fargo") deciding not to pronounce the "g" of the "-ing" suffix. My vowels are still true to their hard/straight/non-rounded/Northern Germanic upbringing -- there is no "e" in "oh"! -- but i've more or less dropped that "g".

Nuttin' but a G thang baby -- Snoop diagnosed my particular change years ago.

Yes, you pronounce my name perfectly!

I do not imagine writing my research with improper spelling.

I try to stick to spelling rules even when I am writing e-mails to friends. It is better to write flawlessly.

Thank you.

Take care,

Mouhcine

Thank you Philburk for your experimental recording.

It shows that a clear recording requires not only a calm background but also some good equipments and sound system.

I listen to many recordings in this forum but a few of them, in my opinion, pass the quality test and convey the message to members without any discomfort.

Anyway thanks to the admin team for providing such an option for us to listen to many a styles of voice modulations in English pronunciation.
