Hi Mouhcine,
Many thanks for posting this interesting topic. Of course our brain can process and understand words that are spelled incorrectly. The same holds true for errors in spoken language. But the question is, which is better -- bad spelling or proper spelling? What kind of message do you send when your spelling and punctuation are bad?
By the way, how do you pronounce your name? _________________ Test Of English for International Communication TOEIC Preparation & TOEIC Vocabulary |

Hello,
I think you are not convinced that my mike does not work properly. Let me try to record again and give you an example. I think it is a truism that proper spelling and punctuation give an image of the writer. But being able to read and understand the words even if they are not written correctly is really amazing for me.
Take care,
Mouhcine |

Mouhcine,
I could see a confusion here. I know you want to convey the funny side of it, but it shouldn't give the wrong impression that spelling is not 'important'.
The word 'important' in 'is spelling important' is important here and should be removed with due importance _________________ First lesson - English, not english. I, not i. ~A student of English |

Hi Mouhcine,
Thank you very much for recording your first voice message. It's great to be able to hear what you sound like. As for your microphone, can you please tell if is a 'stand-alone' or a headset mike? I could understand most of what you said but I didn't quite get the part about your name. Can you please do me a favor and record your name again so I know how to pronounce it correctly?
Thanks a lot for your support. Torsten _________________ Test Of English for International Communication TOEIC Preparation & TOEIC Vocabulary |

Hello
Actually, I have a headset mike. I do not know whether stand alone mikes are better or not.
As far as my name is concerned, I was talking about the sounds [h] and [kh]. I said most of my friends in Europe do not pronounce them correctly. (Correct me if I am wrong)
Take care,

The problem is that I listen to my voice clearly before I send the message. |

Hi..Happytofita I think this ''spelling disorders'' is for the ones who have the ''artificial intelligence''. Let us be natural in word-recognition method. What exactly we want to learn from this Cambridge University survey..? _________________ Sahid59

Mouhcine, I couldn't hear you properly from the recording but as far as I know, your name is not pronounced with [kh] and also not with the usual [h]. Mouh is pronounced with the sixth letter of the Abjadia, [haa] not the seventh [kha].

You know the Arabic Alphabet well!
Yes, you are right. My name is not pronounced with [kh] or the usual [h]. It is pronounced with the sixth letter of the Abjadia (Arabic Alphabet). Actually, I was talking about my friends in Europe who cannot pronounce those sounds correctly.

I am just trained to read the Koran. In Malaysia, most Muslim kids from conservative families are-- even with the parents who don't emphasize on everyday prayers. It is more of a tradition.
I think it helps with our pronunciation in any attempt to learn foreign languages. I have this theory that it makes our tongue more flexible. |

Why don't you show me how flexible your tongue is?
Isn't my name difficult for you to pronounce ?
