Hi everybody. How are you today? Finally I fixed the problem in my computer and now I can record my voice messages. My native language is Albanian. In Albanian "Thank you and Thank you very much" we say "Faleminderit dhe Faleminderit shume". Bye bye. Admira. _________________ To be or not to be ,that is the question. |

Hi there everyone!
My mother language is Spanish and the way we express grateful is saying: "gracias". If you're most grateful you could say "muchas gracias". The polite answer to thanks in Spanish is "de nada", that exactly means "not at all".
Greetings from Chile, Southamerica. |

Thank you

Seeing how Firman has not post his recording yet, I will do it on this post, on his behalf. _________________ Need a speaking partner?

Hello, It's me again.
Mr. Firman has kindly wrote how to say thank you in Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian). But what he did not write is that most Indonesian uses bahasa Indonesia as their SL (Secondary Language). Bahasa Indonesia is widely used as lingua franca in Indonesia. It is used in public services and schools on national scale.
Indonesia is an archipelago country. Over 150+ people from different ethnicity live in Indonesia. Each ethnic possess their own language and others speaks the same language in different dialects. These languages are commonly used in daily interaction between natives of the same area. We, Indonesian, call these languages as Bahasa Daerah (Regional Language).
So, this post gave me a good laugh. For I imagine that we, Indonesians, alone would put some 400+ replies, using 100+ different languages in 300+ dialect variations!
Here are some examples that I could think of. I am a Javanese (native people of the central and east part of Java refer themselves as Javanese, while those is the western part of the island refer to themselves as Sundanese) and my mother tongue is Boso Jawi (Javanese), central-northen dialect, and spoken in Semarangan accent.
To say "thank you" in Boso Jawi in central-northen and eastern dialect, you could say "matur nuwun". the "u" there are back, rounded vowel.
To say "thank you" in the central-southern dialect, you could say the same "matur nuwun" with front, rounded "u".
In Basa Sunda (sundanese), however, "thank you" is "hatur huhun".
Phew! That's three from ONE island folks! If you are interested in the other regional languages, I shall be very happy to TRY and provide you with an example. ^^ _________________ Need a speaking partner?
