Hi! I think the average speed of reading (for a native speaker) is about 200 words per minute, though I have no idea what a good word count is for a learner of English. My word count is 120 words per minute, and I read really slow. |

hello there! thanks for your attention! I think Speed reading for a native is much higher than that rate (200) mybe not! accordingly to sites one should read faster. here is a link to test speed of reading and to get result and compare it.... anyway if it is true about your speed and mine that is about same speed, it is not so bad i thank... you didn't say how much time you are learning english, that is important factor in reading speed. please mention it. Thanks for your writing. waiting for your answer |

Hello!
I'm not sure, but I recall reading it somewhere. I've been studying English since I was about eight years old, and I'm 15 now. But my reading speed has always been a little slow, so I guess you really shouldn't try to compare our results. How long have you been studying English, by the way? |

Hi all..
according to the first url mentioned above..I was given a result of 170 words per minutes in that website..
I wonder who can read beyond 2500 words per minutes as the site says..

Is it possible even for any native speakers..?

It was main reason of geting average Speed. I was worried that Mybe it is reason of reading Slow in English But now I see I'm not Too far I can read at Speed 150-180 depend On text (average 160) with Good Comperhention. I want to progress Fast cause I like to learn more languages So I have to push Myself More. Hi Tars..
It is almost normal, in my opinion, to have an average reading speed of 160 wpm as English is our second language. So don't worry. Keep this pace with better comprehension. Try to read more and more to increase your vocabulary.
It is calculated that an average human being thinks around 500 wpm and speaks only 100 wpm in his native language.
Have a nice experience.. .. _________________ Sahid59
