Usage of a success, the success? #1 (permalink) Sun Feb 08, 2009 2:54 am   Usage of a success, the success?

"success" is a noun. I don't know before this word is necessary to have a preposition or not? Example: a success, the success....
if have, how to use it?.
thanks.

Hi Phan Thi Thu Minh,

A/an and the are aritcles, not prepositions. Aritcles(both definite and indefinite) don't be used before abstract nouns and success is an abstract noun.
You might be interested in reading: 'articles-both definite and indefinite'. I hope it will help: Articles in English
