Both words have many different ways of using them, the answer would take up ten pages in a dictionary. That is called idiom: there is no good rule for these words.

The most general meanings are:

- When you make something: you create it, you cause it to exist. You can make a house from stones or bricks. God made the world (if that's what you believe).

- When you get something: you go to some place, you take this thing, and you go back. Or someone else comes and he gives it to you. Then you have the thing at the place where you were at first. You can get bread at the store. You can get a present from your friend.

But there are many, many uses of these words that have nothing at all to do with their general meanings.

Puneet,

It is a good habit to always capitalize:
--the word 'I'
--the first word in a sentence
--all proper nouns

Hope, you get it right :)
